Melanie Price
Support Worker
Hi, I am Mel. I am a support worker for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight team, but I also spend time on the helpline, advising families across the London Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston too.
I have spent my career working within different areas of education including but not limited to EYFS, SEN nurseries and infant schools. I also have personal experience of the SEND system including ECHP’s, disability discrimination, school avoidance, EOTAS packages and much more.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in education studies (primary) and I am trained up to level 3 in SEND law with IPSEA. I am always interested in keeping my knowledge up to date and attend training regularly to make sure I am fully informed.
In my support work role, I work with families who often are in complex situations, I support them to navigate the SEN system and work toward the outcomes we have set. I am very passionate about my role and supporting families to advocate for their children.
I have an interest in all things SEND but I have particular interest in disability discrimination, tribunals, and independent review panels.
