Cathy Hayes

My name is Cathy Hayes, I’m a SENDIASS support worker for Polaris Children’s Services. I live on the Isle of Wight, but I also spend time on the helpline, advising families across Hampshire and the London Boroughs of Richmond & Kingston too.

I have 27 years’ experience working in Health, 14 years working in the third sector which included working within education, this has included roles within mainstream primary and secondary as well as participating in various governing bodies, management boards and executive committees. This has enabled me to gain a well-rounded knowledge of children’s education.

Prior to this my background has consisted of Nursing, Leadership, Advocacy; Project and Quality Management enabling me to bring a varied skill set to my role within SENDIASS.

I have a strong desire and motivation to support families of children and young people who have SEN to ensure they have access to the right information and advice helping them make informed decisions about education.
